I was just thinking about life today. If you're lacking passion, please read.
Where is your passion? Where is your drive? What gets you out of bed in the morning? Something, nothing, not sure?
I think one of life's greatest tragedies is being passionless. We get however many years of life, and each and every day contributes to that. Everyday we get up, maybe drink some coffee, and do whatever it is that each of us does on a day to day basis. If these things lack passion, then what? Are we wasting our lives? Are you living to exist, or living to live? Like REALLY live!
Not that each day of our life has to be exhilarating or anything, but how sad it would be to live day after day after day after day after day without any sense of passion or purpose. What are we DOING?
Now let's talk about weekends, which is a popular time that people seek passion in some form or another. Are you using recreation as a temporary and quite ineffective escape, or a time to "re-create" yourself? To build yourself up and become a better version of you? Are you REALLY finding passion? Are you doing what you know your heart REALLY needs?
I saw a commerical about retirement this week or last, and it literally said, "now you can enjoy the life you've worked so hard to build." WHAT?! You're telling me that the only possible time we can truly enjoy our lives is when we've racked up a ton of money and are living high on the hog because of it? Tell that to the millions of people in our country whose lives, hearts, minds, families, marriages, etc. are breaking apart. People addicted to drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, people ready to complete suicide, people stuck in the prisons of themselves in some form of another. Yeah, I'm just going to be here and enjoy my life.
Alternatively, your loving heart has incredible power. Use it. Use it to be there for people to the extreme and watch before your eyes how that love can change someone's life. That's a large part of where I personally find my passion.
If you are lacking passion in your life, then today is the day you begin your quest to find some. It is never too late! Everyday is a fresh new start. To quote Matthew West, today is day 1 of the rest of our lives. Once you find that passion that gives you life down to the core, watch your life transform. Watch your life become vividly vibrant.
If you aren't sure HOW to find passion (especially when life is difficult), please comment. Please comment with any questions about what I wrote, or comment about anything else you'd like, whether or not it relates to this post doesn't matter.
Be on the quest for passion, you can't afford to waste another day without it. Going forward, I wish you peace and passion. Take this info and store it in your mind and put it into practice. You know yourself and know what you need, so actively pursue it. I'm here for you to help with doing just that if you'd like. I'll subscribe to this. Today is your day 1. TODAY.

How do you figure out your passion?
ReplyI'm going to be at work for a couple hours, so I will offer my insight tonight :) Talk to you soon!
ReplyOk I'll check your reply tomorrow morning;) Thanks!
ReplyHi there, I'm home now. Here are my thoughts on passion. Let me know your thoughts or say whatever you want. This is important stuff and has an impact on every single day of our lives.Let's think about what passion IS first of all. I think of it as having something that moves us to be better people, to help others be better people, and something that makes us excited to live on a deep level, at the core of who we are. What do you think passion is? It's good to have an understanding of what you think it is before trying to get one. Another way to think of it is what do you live for? What are the MOST important parts if your life if you boiled it down to only 1, 2, or 3 things? How do you figure it out? How do you figure out how to get a passion if you don't have one? I think good first step is identifying your gifts, talents, and interests. Your passion will incorporate some or all of those.I'll give you an example of this for me in regard to one of my passions-One thing I am most passionate about is caring for people on a deep level. I enjoy doing this (online especially) because I can explain things pretty well on text, but explaining things in real life isn't one of my strong points. More importantly, I believe the power of real, deep, endless love for people (no matter who they are) is essential. If we don't have this love, what do we really have? I also like thinking about life on a deep level, which is great too for developing deep and lasting friendships. What do you think passion is? What are your interests, talents, and gifts? What or who do you love? What do you enjoy doing? That's a great place to start. I look forward to hearing back from you, this is exciting stuff! It's like uncovering treasure of our own selves. Hope you had a wonderful sleep and will have a rocking day today!
ReplyThanks for your reply. I know my passion is also helping others. That's the only thing I'm sure about in my life. So I guess I already found my passion. Have a beautiful day xo
ReplyWonderful to hear!
ReplyToo chicken to keep the post up.
A bunch of chickens. ...
ReplyI'd love if people would comment on this! It's important stuff. What do you specifically think?
ReplySome people dont think like us. Even though you really know deep down anyway but here is the answer to your question yes you are a incarnate angel. Keep up the lightwork
ReplyI really like your post. Very inspiring. I've wasted my fours years studying something that I am not passionate about and even after working very hard I would not get a desirable result. I understand what the problem is but now it's too late to get out of it. I have to finish college with this and just 1 semester left. I really hope I can do this. Although what I'm studying will guarantee very good job offers but after reading your post I've realized it's no use doing something that I don't love. It will bring me money but it probably won't bring me happiness. I don't want to do a job just for the sake of earning money, just so that I can show people how brilliant I am. I know what I want involves lots of struggle, hard work and dedication. I'm scared to take this path but still I'm going to try walking on it right after I graduate from college. I really hope I can fulfill my dreams.
ReplyThis definitely sounds like a difficult situation. One thing I suggest IS revisiting the possibility of a major change, even if it does take more years. Investing the time and money into what you love NOW will have an impact later down the road, a lot longer time than just 4 years. Finding what you love is such a valuable thing. Don't waste your time and life in something less than desirable. The best part is that this is possible! What are you studying now, and what would you like to be? Thanks for your response! You can fulfill your dreams in whichever way you'd like. It's not something you will happen upon, but each and every day is a piece in life's pizzle when it comes to dream achievement.
ReplyI'm studying engineering but I've always wanted to be an animator. I love drawing and want to do something that involves art and creativity. These two are completely different from one another :/ and my parents will definitely be against it since they have spent huge amount of money on my studies :( I love my parents and don't want to hurt their feelings. My mom knows how much I love art but she always says to take it as a hobby and nothing more than that but I want to take it as a profession and I have like no clue from where to start :/ One thing I'm sure is that I'm not doing my higher studies on Engineering. To me it involves no creativity -_- All we do is study the things that famous scientists or engineers have done or written. Yes, you are right my situation is very difficult :/ Thanks for reading my comment :)
ReplyHello again! I'm glad you're thinking about these things and your goals in life. If what you want to spend your life doing is animating and art, then you gotta do it, even if it means going against the grain, going against your parents' wishes. It takes some time to come to that point, but if you follow the track of your parents' wishes, they might be happy, but YOU won't be. And how sad because it's YOUR life. At this point, since you have only 1 semester left, it wouldn't be a bad idea to finish college up, and then after that start pursuing what you really want. But be thinking and planning now though. That way you have a degree in your hand instead of all that work for nothing.I learned in a sociology of education class that the degree shows a lot more than just the content you learned. It shows you can "do" school, that you are capable and willing to achieve things that take hard work. Of course when looking for a job, the content of your degree matters, but having one that you don't like is better than quitting so close to the end.I'd love to help you explore the possibilities of art as you like it, with all that this will entail. I'm not an artist or anything, but I love exploring possibilities and figuring things out. Sound good? Your life is too valuable for you to not be happy. Anything worthwhile is worth the time, effort and struggle, and the other side of this stuff is beautiful! You have a vision for it, I can see that. Hoe cool! I'm proud of you for that. Now let's find out how to get there!
