I am so sick and tired of people talking bad about others because of who they are. Today I had a meeting with a club called the gay/straight alliance (GSA). We were talking about online dating and people were sharing their stories of coming out to their family and parents. I went to lunch, which I have in the Yearbook classroom, when these two girls brought up the tassels for graduation hats. They were mentioning GSA and how they were nothing special and they didn’t deserve a rainbow colored tassel. I almost lost it and started crying. I hate it when people mistreat people because they are part of the LGBT community. I have a brother who is gay and the fact that they think that straight people should get a different colored tassel is infuriating. We, being the whole LGBT community, deserve those tassels. We make it through every day through the bullying and suffering just because you guys don’t like who we are.
If you are part of the LGBT community, stand strong. Don’t let anyone harm you or insult you. If they do they are probably just jealous that they can’t be as fun and interesting as you.
