The cap on anyone’s income should be
$1,000,000. With the economy in it’s current state, the is no reason anyone actually needs anymore than that. So with hundreds of billionaires, and thousands of multi millionaires, imagine where all of their extra money could go. Higher pay to employees, more money donated, probably even more jobs which can get more people off of the streets. Think about the rich for a second, what do they want more than anything? More money. What would they do to acquire more? It seems like almost anything. Own businesses but only spend enough to make sure their banks are increasing in wealth. Which means high costs for their business’ products. Low pay for the employees producing the products, and cheap, and unsafe machinery and tools for their employees to use to make them. Now let’s say we just force the rich business owners to pay their employees more, wouldn’t that solve everything? No, because we aren’t forcing them to make less than what they want which is virtually limitless. If they have to pay the employees more, and spend more on the safety and well-being of the machinery and tools they need to operate the business, then they will just increase the price of the products coming from the business. Then we’re back to the initial problem, the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor. This is why we need to put a cap on how much these selfish people can make. If their business acquires billions of dollars but they are only allowed to keep a million of it, they will be forced to put the rest into the company. Which means a better workplace for employees, and more importantly employees making a comfortable and healthy living in terms of wealth. Now one might try and argue that we’ll just have even more millionaires in the world and that will, honestly I don’t know how to make sense of an argument of this. I think some would say that if you take away from the rich then they would just always try to make the poor suffer. Well the end result of that would be the rich not being rich anymore. If people working for these billion dollar companies knew the rich’s intent then hopefully they wouldn’t want to work for that company anymore. The rich business owners cannot be rich if they don’t have employees to help they’re business run. So they have a choice, either stop being a selfish pig and give more to the people helping you stay a millionaire, or don’t be one at all. It’s honestly that simple. Not only will we be able to put more into the less fortunate, but we can stop the selfish from running our world. Think about all of the crimes and unfortunate events that would cease to happen as well. Look at all of the people who have done horrible things, were they wealthy people? What were their motives for their actions? People break into people’s homes and possibly kill someone because they want more wealth themselves. Some kill just because they are upset with how the world runs. We need a major change in the economy if we ever want most of this to stop. Power should only be given to those who have empathy. As far as I’m concerned every billionaire or multimillionaire has none. You can say they do, but do they really? Yes they might take care of their family and donate, but how many would still donate if they weren’t compensated yearly by the government? How do they have empathy for taking care of their family when there are other families dying because they can’t afford food on the table, a life saving surgery, or means to protect themselves that just want to take from others. This world will never get better if there isn’t enough empathy in it. Now one could say well what about the drug addicts, the homeless that are on the streets because they let drugs ruin their lives. People who just let their lives ruin because of a lack of drive to succeed? Why let them make enough money to put a roof over their head and food on the table? Well let’s look at why someone might give their lives to drugs. Now I have no statistics but I have some common knowledge and I’m sure other people have done studies to back this up. Wouldn’t you think that not every drug addict does drugs just because they want to? I would say most do it to escape from their depression. They become addicted to feeling like they don’t have to worry about how corrupt the world is or why they have to work their ass off only to barely be able to afford a roof over their head and food on the table. Society and economy drive people to become who they are. No one is born with the addiction to drugs or the lack of empathy for others. They are taught this, and the only reason they are able to learn this because of the lack of wealth spread over the world and the power given to the corrupted. Now yes, not everyone is just going to be good just because they are given what they need to be happy. Some people will just always want more. But what’s wrong with not letting them have it? They throw a power tantrum and make others suffer? Well there are consequences to those actions, and those consequences can help us weed out the corrupt and selfish and force them to realize that the world isn’t just about them by locking them in a cell and making them think about empathy and giving more to others. It’s unhealthy addictions that ruin this world, and it’s not just drugs that are unhealthy, it’s also money. Now the hardest part would be implementing these changes. Because like I said, the rich have no empathy and too much power and are addicted to wanting more. Luckily, there are more who struggle to make ends meet. The one percent stand no chance against the other ninety nine. Together we can make this change and give the rich no choice but to find it in their hearts to change. And for those who don’t want to, we’ll I think they need time alone in a dark place to think about it. The rich cannot make their money without the help of others, so if we all stop and fight for this change it will actually happen. For those of you who are scared to stand up to those who pay you, you are the reason that you’re being walked on. The rich and wealthy have the mindsets they have now because we let them think it’s ok. That it’s alright if we can barely afford to get to work, that it’s alright to be in debt because it’s too expensive to keep a roof over our heads. That’s it’s okay if we are risking our lives and happiness for the sake of theirs. If you think it’s okay to spend more time working than with your family you’re also not helping. We have only one life to live, wouldn’t you rather spend it spending time with the ones you love and viewing different parts of the world? And if we make these changes now, the future generations will be better off, creating a world you will be happy to leave for the new life you bring into it.
