Hey don't feel bad, memory is NOT an indication of intelligence! There are a lot of "book smart" people who have as much common sense as a brick, and there are a lot of people who can't remember names or dates but they are geniuses. I know it sucks to be ridiculed because you forgot something, but those bullies are probably trying to compensate for their own insecurity. Just remember, Einstein flunked half his grades :)
ReplyYou're not stupid for this. Bad memory isn't something we can really control, and it doesn't mean we're stupid. Some people have trouble remembering small details like that. Some people have trouble remembering things with numbers, or dates/times/ect. It's okay. I'm bad with remembering birthdays, sometimes I even forget my own. I have bad memory in general too. But that doesn't make me stupid. And it doesn't make you stupid either if you forget things. We're human, and we will always have one flaw or another. The sooner we realize that and accept it, the better off we'll be.
ReplyYou're human. We make mistakes. Memory doesn't have anything to do with how smart you are. Real friends don't treat each other that way. Your feelings are valid I'd probably feel the same way. There's no excuse for them calling you names. I'm not sure they are real friends. It sounds like a bully gaslighting set up. You're not stupid don't listen to them. How many things are they perfect at? I doubt anything.
