No joke tho, since school years, I always seemed to fall asleep when my body feels the need for it. I snooze a lot even during college and even if I was called out in front of the whole class. So, in a nut shell I’m in a mess since I slept throughout my training when I was supposed to study. I’ll have my verbal exam early next week. What should I do when I can’t seem to remember a single freaking thing from the lectures!? I think I might really have a disease or sickness or something. Does anyone sleep a lot too?

Am I in the wrong?

When you say "even if i was called out in front of the whole class", do you mean you can fall asleep while standing? Has it been a lifetime issue, or did it develop later on, or is it a periodic issue? Do you fall asleep fully, or are you only half asleep? There are a lot of sleep disorders and causes for things like this. Chronic fatigue causes excessive tiredness even if you get a full nights sleep. Hypersomnia can cause a person to fall asleep repeatedly throughout the day even while doing a task. This can be caused by inadequate sleep during the night. Narcolepsy can cause sudden "sleep attacks" for people, while in the middle of talking, while exercising, while standing, while working, virtually any activity. Sleep apnea can cause extreme tiredness during the day due to disrupted sleep during the night. Sleep apnea causes breathing to repeatedly start and stop during sleep, and can be dangerous. Certain medications can also interfere with normal sleep.
If you feel safe explaining your situation to one of your peers, you could ask them to help you learn the information before next week. Asking your instructor may also be an option, but if you don't think they will be understanding, i'd advise against it.
ReplyHello, thank you for your response. This is so detailed. I don’t know when it started, but even when I sit in front the class just to not fall asleep - I couldn’t seem to do it. Since I learned my training online and now currently face to face - I even slept while I was on a consultation with our technical group, together with one of my colleague back then.
ReplyAh, I forgot to answer your question. I was called out from sleeping during class discussion. And I frequently fall asleep during classes when I was still a student. Even right now as I’m training — I fell asleep while watching a video about the steps, or during online lectures.
