actually even if ur not an empath u might be able to help. so whenever my crush gets a little bit upset it feels like there's a stormcloud over the entire room. one time she had a headache all day and at lunch (I sit at her table btw) it was actually crazy how much I could feel the discomfort like it carried over into the rest of the school day
when you've emotionally connected to someone really deeply (not even necessarily in a romantic way), are you able to feel their emotions much more easily/intensely?
also like what do I do?? I suck at comforting people and its crazy how it just ruins my entire day if she gets a lil bit sad. how do I make her feel better/protect myself from the sad????

Ask her personally. As for empathy, I have no clue, sorry.
ReplyI get it.
People drain me from their negative emotions and tones all the time. About the only thing you can do is either distance yourself from them or try to comfort them whether you're good at it or not. Beyond that uplifting music helps. Don't let them ruin your day. Its not always your job to fix others issues. Help if you can if you can't let it go as best you can.
ReplyI don't know if what I feel is the same but if someone I really care about is upset esp because of me I feel this heaviness in my heart and my mood is automatically spoiled. Sometimes it doesn't even have to be me upsetting them and yet I feel sick inside if that makes sense and this heavy tugging type thing. Journalling about my feelings helps me deal with this better

ReplyGround yourself. Take your heels and plant them on the ground. "Push" your energy downward. It will stabilize you.
Ignore it. Act like it isn't there. You can listen to really loud music to drown them out for instance. Distract yourself with something else.
Keep at it, and it will eventually go away or at least lessen with practice and time.
