Overcoming Hopelessness - Nick Vujicic

Once you learn to change your obstacles into opportunities, Nick Vujicic believes you can transform your "walls into doors". Born without arms or legs, Nick knows a thing or two about the power of having a positive perspective on life despite being dealt a bad hand.

"When we feel like we don't have enough love and we don't have enough hope, we start losing strength to live".

Due to the bullying in his life and the thought that he was a burden to his parents, Nick stated having suicidal thoughts when he was just 8 years old. By 10 years old he finally had lost his will to live, because he thought he didn't have hope, so he attempted to drown himself in his home. Thankfully, Nick stopped himself before it was too late.

Looking back now, Nick stresses that if it wasn't for the love and support from his parents throughout his childhood, he probably wouldn't be here today to tell his story.

In addition to his parent's love for him, Nick realized there was a greater purpose for his life on earth and his beliefs gave him faith for his eternal life too. Coming to this realization was key in overcoming hopelessness for Nick.

If your parents haven't expressed the same love for you, or you haven't found your life's purpose yet, there's still hope for you. Your life may not appear to have meaning currently, but there was a reason you were born and you do have value no matter what anyone else may have told you.

In Nick's case he also realized that when you don't get a miracle in your life, you can still be a miracle for someone else. If you feel like your life doesn't have meaning, start by making a difference in the life of somebody else.

When Nick was feeling hopeless, his thoughts were clouding the incredible potential that was hidden inside him. He never would've dreamed of all the accomplishments he would eventually achieve.

You have a magnificent potential buried deep within you too. All you need is a little faith and you can transform the walls in your life into doors, just like Nick did.
